Contest Time
It wouldn't be the preseason without some prognostication. A simple contest, using this table from a couple of posts below:
1.) Choose three teams that will beat the odds and finish with more points than listed.
2.) Pick three that will fall short of this mark.
3.) As a tie-breaker, guess the number of points that the Oilers will end up with at the end of the season.
Probably more than anything, we 're guessing who will stay healthy here. And you can pick the Oilers as one of the over/under teams as well.

Edmonton - too much talent to finish 2nd last, and we're almost out of star players to break our hearts at the deadline!
Florida - massive improvement in net and maturing defencemen and forwards mean this team is in for a massive jump in the standings, especially in a weak division.
St. Louis - managed 81 points last year, and with Nashville's fire-sale and the importing of Paul Kariya, should recieve a healthy boost.
Under:
Tampa Bay - Kari Rammo spontaneously combusts in net, giving the Lightning a chance to swap out Marc "Sieve" Denis and Johan "Collinder" Holmqvist in net. Plus, Dan Boyle is hurt.
New Jersey - The D corps slowly gets worse and worse from their Stanley Cup days. Plus, no Gomez and an injured Langenbrunner mean no playoffs for the Devils.
Toronto - Toskala is exposed behind a weaker team, and Andrew Raycroft continues to show why he's, at best, a back-up goaltender.
Oilers finish the season with 87 points, good for 10th-11th in the West.
